The Carver Camp Youth Gardeners were at it again! On June 6, 2015 we extended the garden by 4 rows. We planted and added eggplants, purple peas, pepper pimiento, and pepper Santa Fe Grande.
Keziah Kudowor, one of the youth gardeners, planted watermelon tender sweet orange and eggplant. She also collected more rocks for the future rock garden. Also, she raked and watered the garden.
We were tickled pink to see the prior seeds peeking up and flourishing. Hard work pays off!
Sister Williams sowed seeds, Rev. Kirksey plowed, and Trustee Williams took pictures and hoed. Sister Kirksey watered the rows of the prize winning garden. Keziah sowed and raked, and picked up rocks. And, Sister Tolbert watered, racked, planted seeds, and talked.
We forgot to mention that Pastor Lee Cc. Winfrey was there for the initial agriculture meeting where veggies were provided by the Michigan State Extension Program. He had his first grand tour of the "talked about Carver Camp."
We had a great time this week with a culminating buffet lunch at Big Boy!
